Would you like to see a more powerful, sportier-looking, better-handling Mazda MX-5? Then sound off--Mazda wants to hear feedback on its MX-5 GT Concept it's showing at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year.
With 205 horsepower at the crank from its normally-aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder (a 33-horsepower upgrade from the production MX-5), an adjustable suspension, front splitter, a central dual tail pipe, rear diffuser, and rear spoiler, plus a sportier exhaust system, Recaro seats, and carbon fiber trim, the MX-5 GT Concept sounds like exactly what we've been waiting for. The car will make its debut at the Festival of Speed on June 28, alongside the Takeri sedan and CX-5. Between stints on the show stand, however, the MX-5 GT Concept will take a run up Goodwood Hill to show it doesn't just look like its racing counterparts, but drives like them too.Mazda claims the MX-5 GT is capable of 160 mph top speed and 0-60 mph in just three seconds--incredible figures for a 205-horsepower car, hinting that the MX-5 GT Concept is much, much lighter than you might expect.
